๐Ÿก Hyper-Local Travel: Is This Your Next Adventure?

โ€‹
Alastair Humphreys is a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year who has cycled around the world for four years, raced a yacht across the Atlantic, canoed 500 miles down the Yukon River, and even walked the length of the Holy Kaveri River in India (just to name a few!).
โ€‹
Why did he decide to trade in grand adventures for spending an entire year roaming one single local map, measuring just 20km?

You might be surprised to discover how this limitation lead to a fulfilling year of adventure.

In this episode, youโ€™ll hear about his unexpected adventures and key lessons from his experience, learn why adventure is a mindset, and get practical advice for exploring your local map so you can find your next big adventure right in your backyard!

How To Be A Digital Nomad

Are you considering becoming a digital nomad or curious about the lifestyle?
โ€‹
My friend Kayla Ihrig recently joined the podcast to discuss the digital nomad lifestyle and the realities of working and living on the road.

โ€‹She ever wrote an entire book about it!โ€‹

In this episode, Kayla shares her journey to becoming a digital nomad and why there is no one-size-fits-all approach to the lifestyle.

Youโ€™ll hear about the question she obsessed over that led to her decision to travel, her advice on building a reliable income, ways to keep travel interesting after doing it long-term, the concept of lifestyle deflation and preparing for going abroad, and much more!

๐Ÿ’ป Is This The Next Big Digital Nomad and Remote Work Continent?

Bali, Chang Mai, and Mexico are a few nomad hot spots that seem to enjoy the limelight.

Meanwhile, there is a burgeoning scene in South America.

Sure, Medellin, Columbia has been on the radar for a long time but what about Argentina and Uruguay?

Visa Guide released their digital nomad index and ranks both of these countries in the top 10 "best countries for digital nomads".

Then again, Ecuador only issued 116 nomad visas in 16 months.

Hmmmm....

But wait a second!

Don't look now but Peru just unveiled an ambitious roposal for a Digital Nomad Visa Program.

The article goes on to say:

"Peru joins the ranks of South American nations embracing the trend of remote work visas.

In Argentina, as of the previous year, digital nomads can enjoy stays of 180 days, with the option for renewal, provided they can demonstrate a sufficient source of income from outside the country.

Brazil introduced a remote work visa in 2022, allowing extendable stays of one year, followed by Ecuador, which permits two-year stays.

This year, Colombia initiated a two-year digital nomad visa, while Uruguay introduced a renewable 180-day visa."

Something is most definitely brewing down South ( and no, I'm not talking about my indigestion).

All I'm saying is, if you're considering a lengthy stay abroad, keep your eye on South America. ๐Ÿ‘€
